Outline for Collective Actualization.

  1. Context
    • According to Integrated Individuals, we all need to appreciate what makes us unique while creating authentic relationships within the larger society.
    • This pattern describes how we can speed up our development and also strengthen the Global Civilization by creating and participating in supportive communities of growth.
  2. Problem
    • When we try to grow spiritually or intellectually without the help of others, we usually improve slowly, and we more often deceive ourselves than find truth.
  3. Discussion

      • None of us are going to be able to create a better on our own; we’re going to need lots of people who know how to cooperate and collaborate.
      • You may notice in this book that I write using first person plural pronouns (we and us). I do that because I want to emphasize that none of this is something that just you are responsible for, nor is it something that just I am responsible for.
    • We need to work collectively, not just to create greater livingness around us, even more importantly, to create it between and within ourselves.
    • We don’t all need to become fully enlightened; that is a personal pursuit and one that might take a lifetime, but we do need to be sufficiently enlightened, so we can see and understand the future we’re working to create without being afraid of it. As Buckminster Fuller wrote, we need “to get all of humanity to educate itself swiftly enough to generate spontaneous social behaviors that will avoid extinction.”
