I’m Jim Applegate, a Colorado-based writer, entrepreneur and creator dedicated to helping everyday people participate in reshaping the world for the benefit of everyone. I have a strong faith in human ingenuity, and I’ve spent decades looking for ways to help people become better innovators and apply their skills toward solving world problems.

I established the Open Artifacts Initiative at OpenArtifact.org to promote and support the creation of open artifacts projects. I’m currently developing a searchable database of open artifacts projects to help connect creators with projects that need them.
