Guarded Mind
Before you let someone else’s ideas into your head, make sure you have a way to verify them.
while trying to make sense of the world—Comprehensive Sensemakers, we will come across ideas that seem compelling, and we may be tempted to accept it without question.
If our minds are left unguarded, the most ridiculous ideas with find their way inside.

We have to have some process for deciding what is true and what is not.

When you find an idea compelling, look for the opposite of that idea and look at the evidence for both to see if one is more compelling or if there is some higher-order idea that integrates them both.
Therefore:
Guard your mind: before you believe someone else’s conclusions, choose an effective process for coming to that belief; ask “am I sure of this?” And “how would I be sure of this?” And “how certain am I?”
