Today is not going to be a big writing day, but I wanted to at least clear my mind so I can be more present for the tasks I have today. So far, I’m really liking the state of mind I get in writing on this site. I think it helps get past the difficult parts of the day. By the time I finished yesterday, I had really come up with some valuable ideas.

I was thinking this morning about the various connections I’ve found with Buster Benson (co-creator of this writing website). I first encountered his graphic that visually organizes the many known cognitive biases. I didn’t know who we was, but I appreciated the way it was put together. Later, I found the Medium article that discusses it and got a little more insight about it. Then, as I was reading about Digital Gardens, I kept seeing references to Buster Benson’s “Codex Vitae” (which is a much better name than, I think, calling it a “personal canon”). Then, looking at the rest of his stuff, I found his article about “Soloverse,” and now this app.

Overall, I’m optimistic about the book, but I know it’s taking a long time to get it ready for submitting proposals. At the same time, I think it’s getting better with each part that I struggle with. In the end, I think the book will be stronger and more effective because of this work, but it’s had to have it just keep going on and on. I’d like to do more around the book, but I’m trying to stay focused on getting the book into existence first. There’s a lot of overlap there, so it should be fine.
