It would be a lot easier if you could make the sandwiches ahead of time, but a sandwich made the night before is going to dry out, or if it’s something like peanut butter and jelly, the jelly is going to soak the bread. It’s better to make the sandwiches the morning of the day they’re going to be eaten, or they may not be eaten at all.

Make the sandwiches and other fresh items the morning they are going to be eaten. You can tell when a sandwich has been in the fridge, and your kids can too.
